sewing techniques

On the mannequin there is a piece of fabric attached which has a technique called shirring. I sewed a wavy line 5 times horizontally, made sure i back taped one end then with the other piece of string i pulled it and it made the fabric strive creating the shirring technique. This took me about 5minutes to do then i moved onto a more complex design for a different side of the body.
